Nearly everyone who has one or more missing teeth is a candidate for a dental bridge.
A dental bridge is comprised of three pieces that bridges the open gap between your teeth. Most bridges are made of an artificial tooth that is held together by two crowns (a “cap” that covers the tooth and approximates its normal size and shape). This three-part piece is then cemented to the surrounding teeth of each side of the gap.
At times, a dental implant may be a preferred solution because dental implants protect your jawbone from erosion. It also doesn't involved altering or cutting your remaining teeth. However, not everyone is a candidate for dental implant surgery.
If you need of or are considering a solution to missing teeth, Dr. Emma can provide a careful and thorough diagnosis, let you know if you're a candidate for either a bridge or dental implant, and fully explain your options to you.
